Rough Ball is a platform where the protagonist is a purple ball. You must control the ball to bounce between platforms and avoid spikes and deadly gaps to find your way to the finish line. You will gather coins along the route which unlock new skins for the balls.
In Rough Ball the ball is always moving, bouncing. You may control the bounce direction left or right to overcome platforms and avoid obstacles. On a computer you can utilise the Q/E, A/D keys or left and right arrow keys. Playing on a phone? Tap the left or right side of the screen to alter the direction of the bounce.
The course is filled with narrow portions, spikes and steep chasms, so you have to time your turns perfectly. A bad bounce and the ball tumbles into the chasm. You must try again. You can also use the C key to make a checkpoint and resume from the stored place if you fail.
- Changing direction: Don't wait until you're exactly at the edge of the platform to change direction.
- Know your landing spot: Identify a safe spot to land at before your next jump.
- Pick up coins whenever you can: Don’t risk falling into the abyss for a coin you can’t reach.
- Use checkpoints. Set them up before the difficult sections of the race, so you don’t have to start over.
Rough Ball doesn’t need fancy moves, but you will need to coordinate your jump direction and timing to get through the stages. The jumps on tiny platforms one after another present a special challenge, especially when you want to get to the finish line and get enough coins.
