World Soccer is a soccer game with a gameplay that is much different from the normal soccer games. Instead of controlling running players on the pitch, you pull your team pieces and release them to send them rushing ahead. The object is to get the ball into your opponent's net before they can score.
Each team has pieces in World Soccer that you can move about by dragging and dropping them. Pick a piece, drag to change the direction and power of the shot, and let go to send the piece flying. When colliding, the piece can push the ball or change positions of other pieces.
You don’t just aim straight at the ball, you have to calculate the trajectory to get a score. A well-directed push can bring the ball close to the goal, but if the force is too great or the direction is incorrect, the ball can also go far from the objective. The opposition will try to block you and score on you so you need to think of every move.
- Changing the direction of the shot: Check the position of the ball and the goal before pulling the piece.
- Use the proper amount of force: If you shoot too hard the ball will bounce off in a favourable place.
- Take advantage of collisions: Sometimes it’s better to push the ball past an opponent instead of shooting directly.
- Defence matters: Avoid putting your pieces in the wrong place for the opponent to score.
World Soccer mixes football with drag and drop tactical play. You don't need to do anything fancy, but you do need to calculate the direction and force of your shot to get an edge. The game is intense with each turn as each shot might influence the fate of the battle.
